Terms of Service
Plain version first: we email you when your VA claim changes. We are not VA and we are not your representative. Cancel any time and we delete your data.
1. Who we are
Forward March is a service run by DivX, LLC, a private company. Forward March is an independent service and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. Nothing here is a VA product, and nothing we say is a VA decision.
2. What the service does
With your permission, we read the status of your VA disability compensation claims through VA's public API. We check about once an hour. When a watched claim changes, we send you an email saying that it changed. That is the entire service.
3. What it doesn't do
We are not a Veteran Service Organization. Federal law (38 CFR 14.629) limits who can charge a veteran for help preparing, presenting, or prosecuting a VA claim to accredited attorneys, accredited claims agents, and accredited VSO representatives. We are none of those, so we do none of that. We charge for one thing: telling you when your claim's status changes. We do not file claims, submit evidence, contact VA on your behalf, fill out forms, or tell you what to put in an appeal. Nothing on this site is legal or claims advice, including any guide or article we publish. If you want help building or appealing a claim, work with an accredited VSO, agent, or attorney. Most charge veterans nothing.
4. Accuracy
We show you what VA's system tells us. VA data can lag behind what a rater has actually done, and VA's systems go down. We can't promise our email arrives first, or at all. Treat VA.gov and your VA mail as the record. Don't make a legal or financial decision based only on an email from us.
5. Your account
Keep your password to yourself. Tell us fast if someone else gets into your account. One person per account. Don't try to read anyone else's claim data.
6. Paying
Watching one claim is free. Watching more than one is $1.99 a month — a recurring charge. Once you subscribe, Stripe bills your card automatically every month until you cancel, at the same $1.99 rate. Right after you subscribe, we email you a confirmation that restates the price, the monthly billing cycle, and exactly how to cancel. Cancel any time from your account page — the same page you used to upgrade, one click, no phone call, no retention offer. Canceling stops future charges immediately; you keep unlimited claims until the current paid month ends, then drop back to the free plan. We don't prorate or refund partial months. Two dollars isn't worth the paperwork for either of us.
7. Ending it
Delete your account whenever you want, from your account page. It runs immediately — see our Privacy Policy for exactly what that deletes. We can close an account that abuses the service or breaks these terms; if we do, we'll email you why.
8. Liability and disputes
The service is provided as is, with no promise that it's uninterrupted or error-free. To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you is capped at what you paid us in the last twelve months. For most people that is zero dollars. These terms are governed by the laws of Texas, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. If we have a dispute we can't resolve directly, either of us can bring it in Texas courts.
9. Changes and contact
If we change these terms in a way that matters, we'll email you before it takes effect. Questions go to our contact form.
